I agree with your comment regarding the Karlsson contract numbers. If anything, it set's the bar HIGHER for Weber and Suter. Must make Preds fans nervous to see if they can afford to keep both. ~$23 million cap hit for three players who don't score goals.

Goals that are prevented from being scored on you are just as good as goals scored for you

Just a guess, but I think Rinne wins the NHL cover!

Also, at least half of Weber's assists were first assists, many from rebounds on blasts from the point. He's a key offensive piece, and Suter is as well.

Really would like Tootoo to come to the Oilers. I dunno if he'll have repeat offensive success, but he'll add some grit and peskiness.

It depends on how you use him. When he's scoring goals he's much less of a gritty, pesky player. If you ask him to be an agitator he'll do that spectacularly, but he won't score as much.

If what everyone is saying is correct, what's the hold up on the 5 year $40 mil deals for Weber and Suter? Poile's a smart guy, should be a no-brainer don't you think?

If Yip was resigned, what are the terms? I haven't been able to find anything saying he has resigned.

I'd like to see Tootoo, Eager and Belanger/Petrell on our 4th line. They've all shown glimpses of talent on offense, but mostly I think we need to add a little toughness and dare I say it goonery to our lineup.

According to Poile, the only thing preventing Suter from signing is Suter. Apparently it's not about the money. The money is there for both of them. They want to see which direction the team is taking before they commit.

It hasn't been officially announced by the Preds yet, but it's being reported everywhere; Twitter, Section303, On The Forecheck etc.

I'm fairly comfortable with our chances of bringing Suter back.

From what ownership and Poile have talked about, its not about the money being offered Suter. Suter wants to check out the FA landscape and if Poile can provide assurances to him that this team will contend for a cup more often than not.

But all of this has been carefully chosen words from both sides fed to the public in order to keep the collective fan base from jumping over a cliff. Suter could be telling the truth, or privately he just wants to play somewhere else. He's earned the right.

However, I think Poile has made a strong effort to show him he is going to try to keep this team a competitive playoff contender. If Suter signs somewhere else just for the money then good for him and his family, but it won't stop me as a Preds fan from being disappointed that he was just blowing smoke up our ***.

Suter can't possibly expect Poile to possibly get a top-forward after re-signing Weber, Rinne, and himself. I wonder what he means by which direction??

Yeah Suter's being a bit of a dink. That being said, with the team having excelled as they did, and the flexibility of a 70 million cap (for at least the summer), now might be the season to dig deep and spend 60 million.

I don't know about Suter, but I remember a quote from Weber last season referencing getting a new contract, but still leaving enough money on the table to give to other players who could help the team. It's seems as though Weber is willing to sacrifice some salary if he can get some assurances from the Preds.

I won't cry if Suter leaves. I'll be mad as Hell if he goes to a Central Division team though. At least his buddy, Parise, has enough class to rule out any of NJ's bitter rivals as a landing spot. I wonder if Suter at least will respect our fanbase enough to do the same. Probably not.
